[BRUSSELS, BELGIUM] — This was the third Rocco Forte Hotel I’ve stayed in (and 7th time overall). I think it is just an exceptional little boutique hotel brand. They each have their own personality, don’t feel like a chain at all and totally cool design. I absolutely loved the Hotel Amigo in Brussels, the best boutique hotel in Brussels.
I was in Brussels just for a two nights over Christmas before heading off to Prague. Here’s another post I made about Brussels.
Just like the Hotel Savoy in Florence and the Hotel de Russie in Roma (my fave), the Hotel Amigo in Brussels is right where you want to be, but just enough away from The Crazy that you’re in your own little cocoon.
Just a block from the center gathering place in Brussels — the gorgeous Grand Place — you just can’t get a better location. You can walk everywhere, find a train or subway. It’s just perfect. This is where you want to be.
They really have the whole nice sheets thing down. And if you pick this time of year when all the bureaucrats are not in town, you can get a really nice room super cheap.
Tin-Tin, the virtual mascot of Belgium is the them in all the rooms of the Amigo. Very well done museum like pieces are spread throughout the rooms and common areas. Kinda cute.
I didn’t get that many great pics of the Amigo, but here’s a great profile in Conde Nast Traveler where they recommend the Hotel Amigo.
